Built to Simulate Life Beyond Earth
The Habitat is a Mars analog site purpose-built for mission simulation. Originally developed as part of the D-MARS program, it has hosted multiple analog astronaut missions including AMADEE-20, where an international crew of scientists lived in isolation for three weeks to test protocols, technologies, and team dynamics in Mars-like conditions.
Designed by space architect and Creation-Space co-founder Alon Shikar, the structure offers a high-fidelity environment for simulating long-duration missions in the Mars-like terrain of Mitzpe Ramon. It serves as a launchpad for researchers, agencies, and private teams preparing for life beyond Earth.
Study psychological, physiological, and operational challenges of long-duration isolation in space-like conditions.
Run fully immersive simulations of life on Mars, including habitat living, EVA protocols, and mission operations.
Deploy and monitor experiments across disciplines; astrobiology, geology, robotics, and environmental control.
Test air, water, power, and waste systems in a closed-loop, resource-limited environment.
